The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image is of a metal rerebrace, or upper arm defense. The object is curved, resembling a tube cut in half lengthwise, with rounded edges and a slightly tapered shape. The surface of the metal is weathered and worn, showing signs of aging with darker spots and patches scattered across it. The color is primarily gray with darker gray and black areas. Two small rivets are visible on either side near the top edge. The background is a plain light gray color.
