Siege Helmet

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Siege Helmet by an unknown artist is a dark greenish-grey metal helmet. The helmet has a rounded top and a flat faceplate with a T-shaped opening for the eyes and mouth. Two curved cheek plates cover the sides of the face, each secured with small metal rivets. A curved neck guard extends from the bottom of the helmet, also secured with rivets. The entire piece appears to be made of metal and has a weathered appearance with visible signs of wear. The background of the image is a plain off-white color.
