Rowel Spur
Rowel Spur by an unknown artist. The object is a metal spur with a curved band and two prongs at the back, ending in a small ball on each end. The rowel, a wheel with pointed spokes, is attached to the side of the curved band via a short stem. The rowel has a central circle and six radiating spokes that end in sharp points. The spur has a shank that extends from the front of the curved band and ends in a decoration resembling a snake's head; the decoration has a curved beak and small eyes. The entire spur is silver-colored with areas of darker tarnish. The background is a plain gray surface.
