Spear

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The spear, by artist credited to Unknown, depicts a spear with a long, thin, pointed metal tip. The tip is brown with a slightly lighter-colored band of damage along its surface. A short, thin cylindrical piece of metal protrudes from the bottom of the tip and is topped with a ribbed metal collar. A long thin handle, possibly made of wood, is mostly dark brown with sections of red and a band of gold-colored metal where it meets the tip. The background is gray on the left and white on the right.
