Sword (Dao) with Scabbard and Baldric

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The sword has a curved, silver metal blade with a wooden handle wrapped in brown cord. The handle is thicker at the end and tapers towards the blade. A brown leather strap is attached to the handle and runs through a loop at the top of the scabbard, which is made of dark wood. The scabbard has a lighter-colored wood piece near the tip and is wrapped in woven material. The strap is long and thin, with a small piece of leather tied at the top. The background is white.
