Kris with Sheath

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Kris with Sheath shows a sword with a dark wooden scabbard and hilt. The scabbard is long and thin, with a carved wooden tip. A curved piece of wood protrudes at the top of the scabbard to form a loop for a belt. The hilt of the sword is gold-colored metal with a flared, rounded top. The pommel is not visible. The scabbard has a dark reddish-brown color, while the hilt is a shiny gold color. The background is a plain off-white wall.
