Dagger (Qama) with sheath

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The dagger has a long, narrow, pointed silver blade with a decorative pattern. The blade features a series of vertical lines down its center and a pointed tip. A decorative silver band separates the blade from the hilt. The hilt is covered in a red and gold patterned material, possibly fabric or metal wire. The hilt's top is teardrop-shaped and also features a red and gold pattern. To the right of the dagger is a silver sheath with a textured surface. The sheath is tapered, being wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, with a small decorative piece at the tip. The top of the sheath has a decorative gold and red band. The dagger and sheath are set against a plain gray background.
