Dagger (Jambiya) with Sheath

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dagger (Jambiya) with Sheath. The dagger has a silver-colored, double-edged blade. The blade's sides run parallel for most of their length before tapering to a sharp point. A short section near the hilt is decorated with inlaid designs. The hilt is T-shaped with a flat top and a flared end towards the blade. The hilt features intricate inlays of various colors, including pink, blue, green, orange and gold. To the left of the dagger is its sheath. It has a similar shape to the dagger's blade, with a wider top that tapers to a point. The sheath's exterior is covered in the same colorful inlaid designs as the hilt. Its top is flat. The background is light gray.
