Visored Sallet

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Visored Sallet by Artist is a silver-colored metal helmet. The helmet is displayed on a short white stand. The helmet has a rounded top and a flat faceplate with a horizontal slit for the eyes. There are two curved slits on either side of the faceplate, and several small holes for ventilation. The helmet has a small protrusion on the left side, possibly for attaching a strap. The surface of the helmet is scratched and pitted, with darker spots scattered throughout. The background is a gradient from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
