Knife Handle (Kozuka)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image is of a rectangular, bronze-colored metal object. The object is long and narrow, with a flat top and bottom. It has a dark brown patina with lighter bronze tones. On the left side, there are three small, raised leaves. A thin, curved line extends from the leaves to the right, resembling a stem. The stem has a small, oval-shaped object attached to it, possibly a fruit or bud. The object is gold-colored. Further to the right, there is another leaf. The background of the image is a light gray color. The object appears to be a Kozuka, a type of knife handle.
