Congressional Presentation Sword and Scabbard of Major General John E. Wool (1784–1869)
The sword has a gold-colored hilt with an eagle on top. The eagle faces left and has outstretched wings. The handle is wrapped in a rope-like design. There are two metal rings on either side of the handle near the base. The guard of the sword is shaped like two curved horns or dragon heads extending to either side. The blade is not visible but appears to be encased in a scabbard. The scabbard is gold-colored with engraved text and wrapped in a rope-like design near the top and bottom. There are two metal rings on either side of the scabbard near the top. The background is gray on the left and white on the right.
