Right and Left Breastplates from a Brigandine

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Right and Left Breastplates from a Brigandine by Unknown. Two dark-colored, curved metal pieces with rivets along the edges, resembling breastplates. Both pieces are roughly the same shape, with a pointed top and a curved bottom. Several small rivets are visible along the edges of both pieces. A row of larger rivets runs along the center of each piece, with a small metal piece attached to the right breastplate. The surface of both pieces is weathered and worn, with visible signs of aging and use. The background is a plain light gray color.
