On the right side, three women are gathered; one adjusts her kimono, another holds a smoking pipe and sits on a low stool, and the third stands and holds a fan. The background is yellow; three paper lanterns hang overhead. Objects on the floor include a tall candleholder, a low table with items, and a closed black box. A shoji screen stands behind the man.
