The Metropolitan Museum of Art

A Japanese woodblock print titled Spring Rain at Tsuchiyama, from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō, depicts people on a boat. The boat is in a river and people are wearing rain gear. The people on the boat are wearing conical hats and raincoats in blue and red. The boat is being rowed to the right. A steep rocky slope with trees on the right side rises next to the boat. The background is rainy with tree-lined riverbank visible on the left. The riverbank on the right appears to have a wooden fence. There are vertical Japanese characters written on the top center. Two red rectangular signs are on either side of the characters. The image has a beige border with small rounded corners.
