Footed Urn

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Footed Urn by Unknown Artist is a black and white photograph of a dark-colored vase. The vase has a wide, rounded body and tapers towards the top. A short, narrow neck supports a flared rim. The base of the vase is similarly flared. Three horizontal grooves encircle the vase below the rim. A fourth groove is on the base. A decorative etching encircles the vase between the top two grooves. The vase appears to be made of a dark, weathered material with visible signs of aging. The background transitions from light gray at the top to white at the bottom.
