Double sided painting; Male with Flower/ Soldier by Abanindranath Tagore. A yellow square on a piece of aged paper contains a standing figure. The figure is a man wearing a long white dress with a plaid sash around the waist, a head covering, and a white and red patterned armband on the left arm. He holds a flower or plant with leaves in his left hand. There are red circular marks on his right arm, stomach, and left leg. His right arm is bent at the elbow. There is writing in a foreign language around the figure and above it. The paper is slightly discolored and has rough edges. The background behind the paper is white.
