Fragment of a Plaque with a Figure
Fragment of a Plaque with a Figure, A fragment of a stone plaque, made of light gray stone, roughly square with a right angle at the top and more uneven along the bottom. A raised molding runs horizontally across the plaque at the center. A relief carving of a figure protrudes from the bottom; the figure appears to emerge from the left. The figure is shown from the waist up; the head turned to the right. The facial features include furrowed brows, a large nose, a small mouth with downturned corners. The figure's right arm is bent at the elbow and rests on an unseen surface; the hand is raised to the mouth. The left arm is mostly missing. Three symbols are carved in relief along the top of the plaque, near the right edge. The background behind the plaque is solid black.
