Gourd-shaped bottle

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Gourd-shaped bottle by Yi Gang, features a grey-brown ceramic vase with a bulbous bottom that tapers into a narrow neck. The bulbous bottom resembles a teardrop shape. A smaller, more rounded bulb is stacked on top of it, tapering to a small opening at the top. A small circular hole is visible on the lower bulb. The surface of the vase exhibits a rough texture with visible speckles and imperfections. The background is a gradient transitioning from dark grey at the top to light grey at the bottom.
