Handwarmer with decoration of plum blossoms by Makuzu (or Makozuke) Hakkei. A dark brown, rounded rectangular hand warmer with a lid. The lid is domed and made of bronze with a design of plum blossoms cut out of it. The base is lacquered with a design of flowering plum branches in gold and grey. The lid has a repeating design of 5-petaled flowers. The lid is fitted on top of the base with a thin copper band. The object is on a grey gradient background.
