Vial of peach pigment

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a glass-covered wooden box containing various art supplies. The box has a black frame and is divided into several compartments. The top row contains nine small, differently coloured and patterned bottles with narrow necks and rounded bodies. The second row contains 13 cylindrical containers of different colours, each wrapped with a paper label and tied with a string, arranged horizontally. The bottom row features three sections. On the left, there are eight similar cylindrical containers as in the second row, but oriented vertically. In the middle, there are two black metal objects resembling compasses or dividers. On the right, there is a roll of off-white paper with illegible text. On the right side of the box, there are two additional compartments. The top one contains two off-white objects with circular holes. The bottom one features the same roll of paper as below. The box is titled "Vial of peach pigment" and attributed to an unknown artist.
