Wall Vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Wall Vase by unknown artist. Gray vase with an ornate design covering the entire surface. The vase has a wide base that tapers to a narrower top. Two handles are on either side of the vase near the top. The handles are ornately carved to resemble foliage or flowers. There is a scenic panel on the front of the vase depicting a landscape scene with trees, water, and a building. The scene within the panel appears to be a serene Asian-style landscape. The vase sits on a plain surface against a plain background.
