The Ornament by Hans Makart shows a shiny gray pendant in the shape of a monkey. The monkey is sitting down with its knees drawn up to its chest and its head down. A cord with a large clear bead threaded on it is threaded through the top of the pendant. The cord extends to the right and loops back on itself. The background is a plain gray surface. The pendant appears to be made of stone or glass. The cord seems to have a woven texture. A smaller clear bead is between the cord and the pendant.
