Bamboo and Rocks by a Stream

Takaku Aigai

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

A semicircular fan on a solid black background with a wooden frame and ribs fanned out. The ribs are thin brown lines radiating from a slightly thicker brown handle at the bottom-centre. A color gradient scale with black on the left to white on the right lies horizontally across the bottom third. The fan has a white background with black ink drawings of bamboo and a distant landscape. Small black writing is visible on the left edge and a small red seal is on the bottom-left.
