Meiping vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Meiping vase by the artist is a ceramic vessel with a narrow mouth and a short neck. The vase body is bulbous in the middle and tapers down to a narrower base. It has a white glaze with a crackle pattern throughout. The crackle pattern resembles fine, dark lines crisscrossing the surface. The background is a plain light gray color with the vase casting a faint shadow on the surface below it.
