Jar with dragon and phoenix

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The vase "Jar with dragon and phoenix" by an unknown artist is a yellow, ceramic vessel with a glossy finish. The vase body is bulbous at the middle and tapers narrower at the bottom than at the mouth. The mouth rim appears to have a white rim around it. Etched into the body are two creatures: a dragon on the left and a phoenix on the right. The background of the image is a plain off-white color.
