Miniature vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Miniature vase by Bernard Leach. Small ceramic vase with a wide body that tapers to a narrow neck and mouth. The vase has a predominantly white glaze with dark speckles and a dark base. The base is circular and flat. The body of the vase is bulbous, curving inwards to form the narrow neck. The glaze appears uneven and rough. The background is a plain surface, possibly fabric, with the vase casting a slight shadow.
