Hexagonal Jar with Flower and Bird Decoration (one of a pair)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

White ceramic jar with a hexagonal body and matching lid. The jar has a wide mouth and a small knob on top of the lid. The body of the jar has six flat sides, each decorated with a floral design featuring red flowers, green leaves, and blue and red birds. The lid is also hexagonally shaped and features a similar design to the body, with a bird and floral pattern in red, blue, and green. A red geometric patterned band encircles the base of the lid. The background of the jar is white, and it is set against a gradient background that transitions from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
