Storage jar

The image shows a black and white photograph of a ceramic storage jar by Bernard Leach. The jar is viewed from the front, sitting on a white surface and a plain background. The jar has a rounded body, wider at the middle than at the base or the top. The base of the jar is flat. The top of the jar has a short cylindrical neck with a small, slightly rounded rim. The jar is speckled with small white and dark spots across its dark gray body. Small dark spots are also visible on the base. The surface of the jar shows horizontal striations from the manufacturing process. The jar appears to be handmade. A shadow is cast to the right.
