The painting depicts a group of horses in a landscape with an attendant. Six horses are shown, with four standing close together in the center and one on the left. The horses have the following coat colors: one is brown, one is brown and white, one is black and white, one is black, one is white and light brown, and one is light brown. The horses are positioned on a slight incline with their heads down, except for the brown horse on the left which is looking right and one white and light brown horse which appears to be rearing up. To the right of the horses, a person stands holding a stick or staff. The person wears a hat, a light-colored robe with long sleeves and pants, and dark boots. In the background, there are several trees with green leaves and a few rocks. The painting's color palette includes shades of brown, green, and red, from the two circular seals in the upper-left corner and a square seal in the lower-left corner. The painting's surface appears aged with a mottled beige background.
