The image shows a painting of a rooster and a hen. The rooster is on the left, facing left; it has a dark body, with a reddish-brown comb and wattle, and a long black and gray tail. The hen is on the right, facing the rooster; she has a white body and a small reddish-brown comb. Both birds have large white eyes. The background of the painting is beige with a gold border around the edge. There are several lines of black Japanese characters and two small red seals on the bottom right side. The painting is titled "Cock and Hen" by Kawabata Gyokushō.
