The image depicts a scene with two men working on large rectangular blocks of wood. The man on the left is on top of a larger block, wearing a headband, a short orange garment and a checkered cloth around his waist. He is holding an object resembling a large chisel or adze. The man on the right is sitting on a smaller block, wearing a robe with a patterned sleeve. He appears to be using a chisel. There are Japanese characters written in black and red ink throughout the image. A tree trunk with a red fence in front of it is on the right side. There are also some leaves at the top right. The background is off-white.
