The image depicts two women in traditional Japanese clothing. One woman on the left kneels on the floor on her right knee and on a cushion on her left knee and is bending over a large object between her and the other woman. The object between them sits on top of a short tree stump. The other woman on the right is kneeling on both knees. Both women have their hair pulled back. The background features a gray wall adorned with a hanging scroll showcasing a flowering plant design and another hanging scroll with Japanese characters inscribed on it. A low table and another hanging scroll are visible on the left wall.
