Cup

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image depicts a ceramic cup with a light greenish-gray glaze. The cup's rounded body is wider than its height. A decorative band of interlocking rectangles encircles the top edge. Below this band, a raised floral design is centered on the side. The cup's base is slightly rounded, with a small, rough patch visible on the lower right side. The background gradient transitions from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom. A faint shadow is cast to the right of the cup. The artist of this piece is unknown, but the title is "Cup".
