Bowl on High Foot

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Bowl on High Foot by Leach. The image shows a large, simple ceramic bowl with a wide mouth and a short, thick foot with a flared base. The bowl and foot are made from dark grey clay. The foot has a cylindrical middle section, with four rectangular cut-outs, two on each side. The bowl has a wide lip and a slightly rounded exterior. The surface of the bowl and foot show evidence of being handmade, with visible striations and imperfections. The background is plain and off-white.
