Harness Ornament with a Crouching Tiger

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Harness Ornament with a Crouching Tiger, by unknown artist, is a bronze object with a green patina. The object features a crouching tiger on all fours with its head on the left and tail on the right. The tiger has a spiral on its side, and another on its back right leg. Its mouth is open, and two holes are visible under its head and on its mouth. The tail of the tiger curves upwards and ends in a ball with a hole through it. The top of the tail curves back on itself, and a similar curl is behind the tiger's head. The object has a textured surface and displays signs of wear and aging. It casts a shadow on a light purple background.
