Netsuke

Small sculpture made of carved ivory or bone, possibly a Netsuke by an unknown artist. The sculpture depicts a group of objects stacked together. On the left, a figure with a long beard and hair, wearing a robe, sits on a cylindrical base with a design. To the right, a cylindrical object with a rounded top and a smaller cylindrical object on top of it sits on a base with a herringbone pattern. Behind these objects, a larger, rounded object with a patterned top and a smaller, rounded object are visible. The background is plain white, and the sculpture casts a faint shadow on the surface below it.
