A small, oval-shaped object made of light-brown material, possibly ivory or wood, resembling an egg. The egg is cracked down the left side and across the top. A figure with a large head, small body and hands is pushing through the crack in the top. The figure has a large face with bulging eyes, a flat nose and mouth, and two hands with four fingers each pushing against the egg. The background fades from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom. The object titled "Netsuke of Bird in an Egg" is by artist unknown.
