Wine Cup (Zhi)

Green-colored, ancient Chinese bronze wine cup with a lid, called a Zhi. The cup has a wide mouth that tapers in and then flares out slightly near the base. The body has raised rectangular designs. A band of triangular patterns encircles the cup above the designs, and another band encircles the base. The lid is domed with a small, conical finial on top and a band of triangular patterns near the base. The entire piece has a weathered appearance with areas of blue corrosion.
