The Writing box by artist Peter Beard is a rectangular box with a lid. The box is made of dark wood with a visible grain pattern on the lid. The lid is flat and rectangular, with rounded corners. The box has a metal frame around the edges, with four small metal corners on the lid and four on the body. There are two small metal plates on the front of the box, one on either side of the lid. The box is sitting on a plain white background, casting a slight shadow underneath.
