
The object is a ceramic tea jar by Bernard Leach. It is a black vase with a glossy glaze. The body is a rounded conical form with a narrow mouth. The lower third of the jar is unglazed and dark terracotta in color. A large vertical streak of white glaze covers most of the center of the piece. The background is white.
