Tea jar

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Tea jar by Bernard Leach. Dark brown ceramic jar with shiny glaze and white circular lid. The jar has a narrow top that bulges out, then curves back in to form a narrower middle section. The middle section bulges out again and then curves in to a rounded base. The glaze on one side of the jar is uneven with a shiny patch and runs down to the base. The jar sits on a plain grey background.
