Note on the Back of the Stele for the Monk Yifu

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Rectangular stone slab with a gray and dark gray mottled surface. The slab contains a large block of text carved into it. The text is written in a language that appears to be an ancient form of Chinese characters. The characters are small and intricately carved, covering the entire surface of the slab in rows. The slab has a rough texture around the edges, with visible signs of aging and wear, including discoloration and some crumbling. The background behind the slab is plain white. The slab is titled "Note on the Back of the Stele for the Monk Yifu".
