Seven-Panel Buddhist Monk’s Vestment (Shichijō kesa) with Crane Patterns on Hexagonal Diaper Pattern (Mokkō) Background
A rectangular piece of fabric with a repeating pattern on a wall. The fabric is primarily gray with a background design of interlocking hexagons; some hexagons are dark, some light. Superimposed on the hexagons are many depictions of cranes in white; the cranes are oriented in various directions. The fabric consists of seven panels sewn together; the panels are rectangular and arranged side-by-side horizontally. The fabric appears to have creases and wrinkles throughout. The wall behind the fabric is light grey; a small white label with the number '4' attached to upper-right corner. A white border at the bottom; small text on the right border.
