Sleeve Band

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Two narrow vertical panels with identical designs. Panels have a light gray background. Each panel divided into four sections, with a design in each section. Top section in each panel shows a symmetrical arrangement of a plant growing from a pot, displayed between curving lines that taper to a point on each side. Second section from top of each panel depicts a woman in a geometric shape with an interlocking pattern border. The woman standing to the left of a table with a plant on it on the left and a bird on the right. The center sections show potted plants. The bottom two sections are mirrored; the third from the top shows a woman in a geometric shape sitting on the ground to the left of a table with a tree on it on the right. The bottom section depicts an animal, possibly a dragon, with the head on the center and the body extending to the left and right. The image is printed in black and white. The panels are titled "Sleeve Band" by the artist.
