Rug

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Black and white image of a rectangular rug. The rug has a black border around the outside edge. Inside the black border is a thin white line with a design on either side. The design on either side of the white line consists of a vine-like pattern with leaves and flowers. The area inside the border is light-colored with a floral vine-like pattern throughout. There are four identical dark spots arranged symmetrically on the rug; each spot consists of a curved teardrop shape on either side of a vertical line with two short curved lines on either side. The corners of the rug have a curved vine-like design. The top edge of the rug appears to be frayed. The bottom edge has short white fringe. The background behind the rug is white.
