Priest's Stole (O-Hi)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Black and white image of fabric with repeating pattern. The fabric appears to be a long, rectangular piece. The background is dark gray. The pattern on the fabric includes white, rounded, symmetrical designs. Designs are layered on top of one another. Each design includes a rounded bottom with lines on the bottom half. The top of each design includes curved lines and a horizontal element in the center. Interspersed among the rounded designs are smaller, white floral patterns. The fabric appears to be folded or stitched in four vertical lines down the center. This appears to be an example of a priest's stole (O-Hi) by an unknown artist.
