Door valance and side panels with dragons

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Golden fabric with two long, narrow panels side by side, and two shorter, wider panels at top, and two long, narrow panels on either side. The long panels feature a large dragon design with a long body, scales, and a long tail, surrounded by clouds and waves in shades of gold, brown, blue, white, and red. The dragons have five claws and appear to be emerging from the waves at the bottom. The top panel has a repeating pattern of dragons. The two side panels have a design that matches the main dragons but in a continuous pattern. The background of the image is off-white with a thin gold border around the fabric panels.
