Ojime

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Ojime by artist is a small, spherical object with a white cord attached. The object is made of dark metal, possibly bronze or silver, with a subtle sheen. It has an ornate design around its middle, featuring raised dots and lines. The top half of the object is domed, while the bottom half is slightly flattened. A decorative band encircles the middle of the object, comprising two raised lines with a pattern of raised dots and curved shapes in between. The white cord emerges from the top of the object. The background of the image is a plain gray surface. The object casts a faint shadow to the right. Red markings are visible on the left side of the object.
