Ojime

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Ojime by artist is a small, dark gray sphere with a hole through its center. The sphere appears to be made of stone or metal and has a smooth surface. A white cord passes through the hole, and a small portion of a blue-green object is visible at the top of the image, possibly a bead or other type of jewelry component. The background of the image is a plain gray surface, with a subtle shadow cast by the sphere. The sphere has a distinctive two-tone coloration, with a darker gray on the left side and a lighter gray on the right side. There are also some red markings around the hole on the sphere.
