Stays

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Stays by an unknown artist shows a worn, pink-colored corset with a boned structure. The corset is primarily salmon-pink in color with a cream-colored lining visible at the top and bottom. The top edge is mostly raw and unfinished except on the left and right sides where thin straps extend. A black cord is threaded through two eyelets on the left side. The bottom features a series of pleated cream-colored strips. The background of the image is a plain gray color.
